Ridge Meadows RCMP provided an update on a woman from Maple Ridge who has gone missing and was last seen in Vancouver.

Cody (Elle) Smith, who is a 32-year-old resident of Maple Ridge, was last seen in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on July 12.

Although she had been reported as being in Downtown Vancouver on July 16, police have since confirmed that this information was inaccurate.

Ridge Meadows RCMP stated in a news release that Smith is believed to have used transit to return to Maple Ridge on July 12.

Investigators found that Smith rode the 741 Anderson Creek bus to Silver Valley in Maple Ridge, and left Haney Place just prior to 3 p.m. on July 12.

Anyone who saw Smith on transit is asked to contact investigators.

Smith is described as being 180 centimetres (five-feet, 11-inches) tall and weighs 68 kilograms (150 pounds) with a slim build. She has shoulder-length dark hair and a fair complexion.

She is known to camp in the woods in the Silver Valley area. However, Maple Ridge Search and Rescue conducted a search of the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest and did not find her.

Anyone who has information about her whereabouts is asked to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
