One man injured after early-morning shooting at residence in Newton area of Surrey

      An early-morning shooting in a residential area of Newton in Surrey has left one man hospitalized with injuries.

      Around 2:52 a.m. today (August 20), Surrey RCMP received a report about gunfire at a residence in the 5900 block of 131A Street.

      Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

      He was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

      According to Surrey RCMP, initial indications suggest that the shooting was a targeted incident and that drug-trafficking may be involved.
