A newer model SUV-type vehicle hit a 77-year-old South Asian male who was walking on the roadway.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital but he died of his injuries this morning (August 21).

Abbotsford investigators are seeking to speak to witnesses who stopped to help assist and served as interpreters at the scene.

The APD is also asking the vehicle driver to come forward to speak with police.

Any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
