An early-morning truck collision closed down a highway offramp in North Vancouver yesterday as emergency crews rescued the driver and extinguished a blaze that developed.

At 3:56 a.m. on August 21, North Vancouver police, fire, and ambulance services responded to a report about a large commercial truck that had rolled over and had caught fire on the Dollarton Highway off-ramp from Highway 1, north of the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge.

The truck driver was rescued and taken to Lions Gate Hospital with minor injuries.

The exit was closed as the investigation and cleanup continued for several hours until it was reopened by around 11:43 a.m.
