One male has died and three others were injured after two vehicles collided in the early-morning hours on Sunday in Surrey.

Around 1:15 a.m. on September 8, Surrey RCMP received a report about a two-vehicle collision on Nordel Way, east of 120th Street.

A grey Camaro with two male occupants in their late 20s were heading west on Nordel Way when a black Mustang, which also had two male occupants, beside them lost control, and the two vehicles collided.

The Mustang veered sideways into a hydro pole. The Mustang driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries while the passenger in this vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the two Camaro occupants received minor injuries.

It was heavily raining at the time of the collision.

Nordel Way was closed to traffic between 120th Street and 88th Avenue but has since reopened.

Investigators believe there are witnesses who haven’t yet spoken with police.

Anyone who saw the vehicles prior to or during the collision, or anyone who has dashcam or phone videos, is asked to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
