Tennis star Bianca Andreescu has told reporters that she's been thinking about playing for Canada in the Olympics for a couple of years.

In a Toronto news conference, the U.S. Open winner called the Summer Games "a very special event".

"So if I do get to play that, then it would be pretty awesome," Andreescu said.

The 19-year-old also revealed that Williams had nice words to say to her in the dressing room after the match.

"Above all, she's such a kind person and hopefully we can see much more of her."

Andreescu, 19, also said that she's now being recognized when she goes to the local mall.

One reporter asked if her newfound fame creates more pressure on her to perform on the court.

"Not at all," she replied. "Yeah, it's definitely the pressure I put on myself. Really, there's always going to be external pressure.

"I mean, I'm sure Canada wants me to do very well—and most importantly, I want to do very well," she continued. "So I think that pressure really helps me honestly."

Then Andreescu talked about meeting retired tennis icon Billie Jean King, and they discussed King's famous quote that "pressure is a privilege."

"It motivates me," Andreescue said. "I think I'm a perfectionist so if I step on the court and I do my best with what I have that day, I think that's all that matters to me."

There were also lighter moments, such as when she called on reporters to give her mom some applause and when she shared a text that she received from Drake.
