Local police have arrested four students after a dispute between the high-schoolers turned physical yesterday.
The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) stated in a news release today (September 12) that around 10:45 a.m. on September 11, police received a report about a physical confrontation between four students on an upper-level walkway at New Westminster Secondary School, located at 835 8th Street.
After an argument escalated, three students allegedly assaulted a fourth student.
Officers arrested four students and are working with school and district administration to determine facts about the incident.
The school and district is offering support to students, staff, and families affected by this incident.
NWPD Sgt. Jeff Scott stated in a news release that it was an isolated incident, there isn’t a risk to any other students, and there weren’t any serious injuries.
In the meantime, the investigation is continuing on.
