Surrey RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault that took place last Thursday morning in the Newton area.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m. on September 19, a woman was walking south on 124^th Street (between 78^th Avenue and 80^th Avenue) when an unknown man jogged by.

As he passed by her, he groped her. After that, he ran to a nearby vehicle and left the area.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male who appears to be about 25 to 30 years old.

He is 178 centimetres (five-feet, 10-inches) tall. At the time, he was wearing black jogging pants and a black hoodie (with the hood over his head).

The suspect vehicle is a dark-coloured sedan (pictured in the above photo). The make and model haven’t been determined yet.
