Pedestrian killed after being struck by vehicle in southeast Vancouver

      Despite the efforts of witnesses to provide medical assistance, a 33-year-old Vancouver man did not survive after being struck by a Suzuki station wagon.

      The pedestrian was crossing East 49th Avenue near Tyne Street last night during rush hour when he was hit, according to Vancouver police.

      He died at the scene.

      A 26-year-old male driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

      This is the sixth pedestrian death in Vancouver in 2019.

      Police are asking anyone with dash-cam video to call the collision investigation unit at 604-717-3012.
