Police are warning the public about an alleged grabbing incident in a Delta park.

Around 1 p.m. on October 9, a woman was in Watershed Park in Delta when a male allegedly jumped out and grabbed her on the Kittson Parkway side of the park, near the water tower and wooden stairs.

The woman said she forced the male away from her and ran away from him on the Watershed Park trails. She was not physically injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male who is about 173 centimetres (five-feet, eight-inches) tall with patchy grey hair and white facial hair.

At the time, he was wearing a brimmed hat, sunglasses, and khaki pants.

Delta police have increased patrols in the area.

Anyone who may have seen someone in the area with this description or who many have further information about this incident is asked to contact the DPD at 604-946-4411.

In August, a series of suspicious meat was reported being left near a trail entrance in Watershed Park, prompting the DPD to warn dog owners before police identified a person of interest on August 17.
