So far, so good for Justin Trudeau. And not so great for Andrew Scheer and the Conservatives.

Early returns in the Canadian election have the Liberals elected or leading in 25 seats in Atlantic Canada.

The Conservatives have been elected in three ridings and are leading in two.

New Democrat Jack Harris has been declared elected in St. John's East, which means he'll return to Parliament after losing in 2015.

Green candidate Jenica Atwin has a narrow lead over Conservative Andrea Johnson and Liberal Matt DeCourcey in Fredericton South.

In 2015, the Liberals won every seat in Atlantic Canada.
