A homicide investigation is continuing on after two people were found dead inside a Coquitlam residence.

Around 3:30 p.m. on October 21, RCMP were called to a residence on Seaton Avenue in Coquitlam.

At the location, officers found two dead individuals inside the residence.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case.

IHIT Const. Harrison Mohr stated in a news release that evidence from the initial investigation suggests that one of the two people was a murder victim. Const. Mohr added that the circumstances surrounding the death of the second person remain under examination.

“We believe this incident was contained within the residence, and can confirm that both persons knew each other,” Const. Mohr stated. He added that investigators do not believe there are any outstanding suspects.

Investigators remained at the scene and in the neighbourhood for a few days as they continued to gather evidence.
