Man in his 30s dies after slipping into Capilano River in North Vancouver

      One of the fastest-moving rivers in Metro Vancouver has claimed the life of a man in his 30s.

      North Vancouver RCMP said in a statement that he lost his footing while crossing the Capilano River.

      He was fishing with three friends at the time near Cable Pool.

      The man died after being rushed to hospital in critical condition.

      One of his friends jumped into the river and was also swept downstream but he is okay.

      No names have been released.
