TransLink, working in cooperation with the Royal Canadian Legion, is offering free transit this Remembrance Day, November 11th, to all veterans and active duty members of Canada’s armed forces.

The offer will also be extended to police officers, firefighters, coast guard officers, B.C. Ambulance paramedics, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans officers.

All that’s need is to show a badge, military ID or record of service card, and free access will be given to TransLink buses, SkyTrains, and SeaBuses throughout the day.

Also on Thursday, the Royal Canadian Legion will also be offering poppy pins by donation at the following key transit hubs:

      • Waterfront Station
      • Commercial-Broadway Station
      • Surrey Central Station
      • Lougheed Town Centre Station
      • Broadway-City Hall Station

“TransLink is honoured to partner with the Legion to help spread poppies around Metro Vancouver,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond. “The poppy is an important symbol honouring all those who have served and are still serving their country.”
