Surrey RCMP responded last night to gunshots and a car crash in the 14600 block of 83 Avenue.

When they located the vehicle, which had smashed into a fence, they also found a man with an "apparent gunshot wound".

He was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mounties believe this was a targeted shooting and that there's no risk to the general public.

Anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident is being asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they want to remain anonymous.
