Vancouver police seek to identify violent West End store robbery suspect

      The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking for assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in an attempted robbery of a convenience store near False Creek in the West End.

      Shortly before 6 p.m. on October 21, a man entered the 888 Mini Market at 1500 Hornby Street near Beach Avenue between the Burrard and Granville bridges.

      The male suspect attempted to rob the store and assaulted the 61-year-old clerk. The suspect then fled from the store, heading westbound on Beach Avenue.

      The suspect is described as a white male who appears to be in his mid-30s.

      At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball hat with a white logo on it, a black sweatshirt, and black and grey plaid pajama pants.
