Passengers who rely Coast Mountain Bus Company will soon learn whether union members will ratify a deal that prevented a systemwide shutdown last month.

Today, Unifor Locals 111 and 2200 are voting on a tentative agreement reached by the bargaining committee around 12:30 a.m. on November 27.

Unifor's national president, Jerry Dias, participated in the talks that ended a stalemate between the union and management over wages and working conditions.

It came just as transit workers were about to go on strike.

Terms of the tentative agreement have not been disclosed.

Voting will take place until 8 p.m. at the Aria Convention Centre in Surrey.

Local 111 represents transit operators; Local 2200 represents skilled tradespeople.
