Richmond RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle linked to a suspected act of arson in Richmond that took place earlier this year.

Around 6:30 a.m. on March 30, Rice Fire and Rescue contacted Richmond RCMP for assistance with a large structure fire at a business complex in the 8100 block of Capstan Way.

The fire occurred before any employees arrived at the location.

After the two agencies conducted an investigation, investigators found evidence that suggested the fire was deliberately set.

Richmond RCMP spokesperson Const. Kenneth Lau stated in a news release that investigators have since obtained video of the suspects, who arrived at the scene in a dark-coloured late model Mercedes SUV that may be a G-series variant.

RCMP have also released the surveillance video footage below of the vehicle and one suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
