After an armed robbery took place at a Ladner business around lunchtime on Saturday, police are seeking the public’s help for any tips about the incident.

Just prior to noon on December 7, police responded to a report about a robbery at a business in the 5400 block of Ladner Trunk Road in Delta, according to the Delta Police Department (DPD).

A male suspect allegedly entered the business and presented a weapon to an employee while demanding money. After he received a small amount of cash, he fled the premises.

“Fortunately the employee did not receive any physical injuries, and it appears there were no threats to the public as this incident unfolded,” DPD spokesperson Cris Leykauf stated in a news release.

A police dog unit was called in but was unable to track the suspect.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious around 11:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. around the 5400 block of Ladner Trunk Road on December 7 is asked to call the DPD 604-946-4411 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Meanwhile in other recent robberies in the Lower Mainland, New Westminster police apprehended two male suspects after two separate bank robberies, one on December 4 with an imitation firearm and another on December 5.

Also in two separate cases on November 30 and December 2, Delta police recovered over $140,000 worth of stolen goods.
