After a shooting took place in North Surrey on the weekend, Surrey RCMP provided an update today (December 9) that they have since arrested several individuals and seized numerous weapons.

Prior to 5 a.m. on December 7, officers received a report about gunfire at a residence in the 10800 block of 139A Street.

Consequently, police shut down the street between 108 and 109 avenues.

Officers apprehended 11 people. Ten of them were subsequently released pending further investigation while one man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Police used a search warrant at a second residence on 139A Street where they found and seized four firearms, two Tasers, an unspecified amount of drugs, and other weapons.

Surrey RCMP stated that the initial findings indicate that it was a targeted incident involving a dispute between individuals who were known to each other.

RCMP added that while there was a public risk at the time of the shooting, there aren’t any indications of ongoing public risk.

Anyone with any further information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477.
