Police are searching for a male suspect involved in a groping incident that took place near a Point Grey golf course not far from UBC on Tuesday night.

University RCMP stated in a news release issued today (December 20) that at 6 p.m. on December 17, two female pedestrians were walking south on University Boulevard near the University Golf Course.

They noticed that a male was walking behind them.

He approached and grabbed the upper thigh and buttocks of one of the women. After that, he ran away towards Blanca Street.

The women called police immediately. Both the Vancouver Police Department and University RCMP tried to locate the male by conducting patrols but were unable to.

As it was dark at the time, the description of the suspect is that he was a male who may have been Asian, and was wearing a puffy jacket with the hood zipped up and pants.

The women described him as appearing to be “hunched” over with rounded shoulders.

Anyone with information is asked to call University RCMP at 604-224-1322 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
