Update (January 7): The Vancouver Police Department announced at 9:13 a.m. that Julia Goldberg has been located and is safe.

      Original article (January 6):

Police are seeking help in locating an 81-year-old woman who has disappeared from Vancouver’s West Side.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) stated that Julia Goldberg was last seen when she left her care home near Oak Street and West 41st Avenue around 7 p.m. today (January 6).

As she has dementia, she requires daily medication.

The VPD stated that her absence is out of character, and family and staff are concerned about her well-being.

She is described as a white female who is 173 centimetres (five-feet, eight-inches) tall with a medium build. She has light brown and red curly hair.

When she was last seen, she was wearing a navy blue zip-up hoodie and light blue sweatpants. She was not wearing a coat and wasn’t dressed for the weather conditions.

She wears an ID bracelet around her wrist.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 and remain with her until first responders arrive.
