Police are seeking assistance in locating a 27-year-old woman who has not been seen for a week.

Burnaby RCMP stated today (January 19) that Chelsea Joelene Johnson was reportedly last seen around 8:50 a.m. on January 12 as she was leaving a transit bus at the intersection of Gilmore Avenue and Dawson Street in Burnaby.

She is described as an Indigenous female who is 165 centimetres (five-feet, five-inches) tall. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

At the time she was last seen, she had been wearing beige pajamas without any shoes.

Anyone who may have seen Johnson or may have information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.

To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-8477.

Previously, two women went missing in separate cases in Burnaby on January 9 and 10. Burnaby RCMP had confirmed that there wasn't a connection in their disappearances and both women have since been located.

However, around the same time, social-media posts began circulating about abductions.

Burnaby RCMP addressed concerns raised by these posts, stating that they had not received any reports supporting these claims and that the source of these posts, which appear to be hoaxes, was traced to the U.S.
