Street enforcement officers in Maple Ridge apprehended a prolific offender who was found with stolen property.

Ridge Meadows RCMP stated on February 6 that officers in the area of the 22300 block of 122nd Avenue in Maple Ridge, located Robert Allen Vrban, a 45-year-old male from Maple Ridge known to police as a prohibited driver, who got into a vehicle and drove away.

Police followed Vrban and arrested him shortly thereafter without incident.

On January 31, Vrban was charged with three counts of driving while disqualified, one count of driving while prohibited, and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Vrban pled guilty to two counts of driving while disqualified and one count of possession of stolen property.

He will remain in custody until his court date scheduled in Port Coquitlam provincial court on February 13, which he will appear at via video conference.

"This is the second time in 6 months that Mr. Vrban has been arrested for the same offence,” Ridge Meadows RCMP spokesperson Julie Klaussner stated in a news release. “He was arrested in July of 2019 and pled guilty in court where he was sentenced to 51 days in jail after time served and prohibited from driving for 10 years."

Vrban has faced numerous charges in Port Coquitlam, Surrey, and Vancouver, dating back to 2001.
