Family and police are concerned about the health and well-being of a youth who has disappeared from an island off the B.C. coast.

Quadra Island RCMP stated on February 8 that 20-year-old Miles Meester of Cortes Island was last seen in the evening on February 6, and his family and friends stated that it is out of character for him to remain out of touch for this length of time.

He is described as a white male who is 152 centimetres (five-feet, 11-inches) tall and weighs 68 kilograms (150 pounds). He has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.
