More details have been revealed about a fatal shooting that took place on Friday night in Langley.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced today (February 13) that it has taken over the case during an appeal for the public's help in the investigation.

Around 9:30 p.m. on February 7, Langley RCMP responded to reports about gunfire in the parking lot of the Langley Crossing Shopping Centre (6339 200th Street).

Upon arrival, first responders found 42-year-old Ravinder Singh Sandhu, who was suffering from gunshot wounds, inside his vehicle.

Sandhu was taken to hospital and remained in critical conditions until he recently died from his injuries.

IHIT stated that Sandhu was known to police and his murder is believed to be targeted.

Langley RCMP Officer-in-Charge Supt. Murray Power expressed his dismay in a news release that the shooting took place outside a busy restaurant with young children in proximity.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the shooting is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448 (or by email).

To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
