A prolific suspect is facing numerous charges for incidents across Metro Vancouver, including in Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Pitt Meadows.

Ridge Meadows RCMP stated that they received reports about break-and-enters at several residences in the Pitt Meadows area on February 10 and 11.

After investigators identified a suspect, Ridge Meadows RCMP with help from Coquitlam RCMP arrested 25-year-old Tyson Taylor Helgason of New Westminster.

Helgason was charged with one count of breaking-and-entering in New Westminster, one count of breaking-and-entering in Pitt Meadows, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 in New Westminster, and one count of mischief of $5,000 or under in Coquitlam.

He is also facing three charges for fraud $5,000 and one charge of application for warrant to issue stemming from incidents in Coquitlam in May and June 2018.

He is scheduled to appear in Port Coquitlam provincial court on February 27.

He has previously been found guilty of several charges—including theft $5,000 or under, breach of probation, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident—dating back to incidents in Vancouver and Richmond from 2017 onward.
