Family, friends, and police are seeking to locate a 31-year-old woman who has disappeared on Vancouver Island.

Nanaimo RCMP stated on February 27 that Ashley Sheppard has not been seen or heard from since February 10.

She had been living with a friend in Nanaimo for the past eight months and she hadn't give any indication of any plans to leave the living arrangement.

Her cellphone has been turned off since February 10 and she didn’t take any of her clothes with her when she left.

Nanaimo RCMP stated that due to some significant personal issues she was experiencing over the past year, her friends and family are extremely worried for her safety and well-being.

She is described as a white female who is 163 centimetres (five-feet, four-inches) tall and weighs 59 kilograms (130 pounds). She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information on her location is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
