While several collisions took place in Metro Vancouver this past weekend, police working on an investigation into a collision involving a senior pedestrian last month are seeking to locate witnesses.

Ridge Meadows RCMP stated today (March 2) that around 2:10 p.m. on February 6, a black BMW X5 SUV was reported to have struck a pedestrian in the 22300 block of Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge.

The 85-year-old male pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries but he has since been released.

The driver, a 36-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

While investigators have interviewed some witnesses, they believe there are more potential witnesses as some individuals left the scene before speaking with police.

Anyone in the area at the time of the collision or who has video footage, and have not already spoken with police, is asked to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
