Updated: missing senior with dementia from New Westminster has been located

      Update: The New Westminster Police Department announced at 10:15 p.m. that Joseph Eberl has been located and is with his family.

      Caregivers and police are concerned about the well-being of a senior with dementia in New Westminster who has disappeared.

      Joseph Eberl was last seen around 9:45 a.m. today (March 3) near the Royal Columbian Hospital (330 East Columbia Street) in New Westminster.

      He is described as being 178 centimetres (five-feet, 10-inches) tall with a medium build and olive skin. He has salt-and-pepper hair and blue eyes.

      He was last seen wearing a blue Fortex jacket over a red shirt, blue jeans, and hiking shoes.

      NWPD spokesperson Sgt. Jeff Scott stated that he may appear disoriented or lost and that he may be in need of medical attention.

      Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
