      Original article (March 17):

Family and police are concerned about a male senior who has a medical condition and who has gone missing from Surrey.

Surrey RCMP stated today (March 17) that 86-year-old Gurnam Cheema was last seen at 9:15 a.m. on March 16 in the 9700 block of 131a Street in Surrey, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

According to Surrey RCMP, it is out of character for him to remain out of contact for this length of time.

He is described as an 86-year-old South Asian male who is 168 centimetres (five-feet, six-inches) tall with a heavy build. He has a short, white trimmed beard and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a light-blue turban, a grey Indian outfit, a black and grey jacket, and brown leather shoes. He was also carrying a yellow plastic grocery bag.

He is deemed “high risk” as he suffers from a medical condition which requires medication.

He uses buses and SkyTrain for travel.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477.
