      Have a loonie to spare?

A spa in West Vancouver is on the market for $1.

It’s not fake news. A buck and you can call yourself a spa owner.

Realtor Jean Seguin is the listing agent for Spa on the Rocks.

The Georgia Straight sought out Seguin, and he said that the owners simply want to move on.

Like other personal service establishments in B.C., the full-service West Vancouver spa is closed due to the rampaging novel coronavirus.

According to Seguin, the owners had the 5377 Headland Drive business listed for sale before the COVID-19 pandemic for $199,000.

The spa didn’t sell, and when the pandemic hit, there wasn’t much else that can be done.

“It’s a business asset sale,” Seguin said in a phone interview.

The realtor said that the sale “includes all the equipment, the lease, the tenant improvements, and the goodwill because it's an operating business”.

According to Seguin, the spa had a regular clientele before the pandemic.

On its website, Spa on the Rocks describes itself as a “professional destination for everything ‘well-being’”.

It specializes in skin care and massage.

The spa also offers manicures and pedicures, waxing, spray tan, and body exfoliation.

Seguin said that it’s one of the owners who suggested a $1 listing price for Spa on the Rocks.

“They really just want to move on, and the way to move on is to blast it out for $1,” Seguins said.
