Suzanne Anton named B.C. Liberal candidate in Vancouver-Fraserview after nomination defeat
Former NPA councillor Suzanne Anton lost her bid for the B.C. Liberal nomination in Vancouver-Quilchena, but she'll represent the party in Vancouver-Fraserview.
The party announced today (March 12) Anton's candicacy in the riding, which is currently held by outgoing B.C. Liberal MLA Kash Heed.
Former party president Andrew Wilkinson triumphed over Anton in the Vancouver-Quilchena nomination contest in February.
Anton, who ran for Vancouver mayor in 2011, will face the NDP's Gabriel Yiu in the May 14 election.
The B.C. Liberals also announced that former Liberal MP Herb Dhaliwal will serve as an honorary chair for Anton's campaign.

Kash Heed, please come back!...all is forgiven/forgotten! There's even room for your stallion!
Herb Dhaliwal?!....Herb, buddy, you are NOT what the Liberals meant by 'quick wins'. And for the sake of humanity, don't even think of outfitting Anton in a sari.

If I read this correctly, Anton has been appointed the Candidate for the riding Vancouver-Fraserview.
I guess it would have been to embarrassing for Princess Anton to have to campaing for the job, debate other candidates for the job and risk anther election defeat.
Yup, when democracy doesn't go the way you want it to, Yah just step in (and step on a whole bunch of toes) and just make an appointment.
I'm sure all the folks in Vancouver-Fraserview are just delighted with this DICTATE from on HIGH.
I mean, why should anyone in Vancouver-Fraserview have any say in who will represent them!!!!!!!

Ms. Anton proved to be a very hard working City Councillor with moderate views and manners. She did allow her mayoral bid to be run by Tea Party Wannabes but perhaps this time she will be allowed to be herself and the contest will focus on issues.
She may be in a winnable riding but she is facing Gabriel Yiu, perhaps the hardest working member of the BCNDP this century. I hope he wins his own race and contributes to a new government as a member of cabinet.
