Steve Kim: We can work together to achieve our goals

There’s no question the upcoming provincial election is critical for the future of all British Columbians. Which is why I threw my hat into the ring to run in my hometown of Coquitlam-Maillardville. I don’t want to stand by the sidelines. I am compelled to take action and do something about it.

Born in raised in B.C., I understand just how lucky we are to live and work in the most beautiful area in the world. We are blessed with awe-inspiring natural wonders. We have a diverse community of passionate, hard-working, innovative people. We are located on the Pacific Rim and serve as the gateway to both Asia and North America. In short, I believe we have set the standard, in numerous ways, for how a region of the world can lead in today’s connected, global economy.

As a province, I believe we must continue to pave the way. I’m a firm supporter in investing in our future by having a strong economy now. I also think we can develop the right strategies to ensure our people, environment, and resources are effectively cared for today and tomorrow. Throughout my career, I have focused on developing small business, building community, and fostering leadership through volunteerism to strengthen our society as a whole.

As a small business owner, I have worked with clients, both big and small, to tell their stories of business and community successes such as developing sustainable business models, enhancing corporate cultures, and integrating charitable giving strategies. Outside of my business, I have dedicated my life to grassroots community and professional development groups through engagement, dialogue, and action.

Taken together, I believe we can empower generations to work together to achieve our goals without sacrificing the people of today.

An idealist? Maybe. But I know with the right leadership, vision, and team in place, we can do this together.

If in fact your a grassroots person, then how about doing something to get these pensions back in line with the private sector pensions and get rid of all the perks that go along with them. After all your no better than the rest of the people who pay the salaries of the hogs in Victoria.

Mr. Kim, you seem like such a nice fellow...how is it that you've fallen in with such a bad crowd?

Oh, sorry...I suppose that's why you didn't mention them.
