A Liberal stronghold since 1984, Vancouver Quadra used to be Conservative territory.

As a Conservative, resident and local businessperson Ken Charko obviously wants to see the wealthy riding won back by his party.

“If you have the right candidate that can articulate its views, that is known locally and the people in this riding can identify with, and someone that can get the Conservative message out, I think that this riding is winnable,” Charko told the Straight in a phone interview.

He’s actually thinking about being that candidate.

“I’ve got a lot of support for the work that I’ve done,” the Dunbar Theatre owner said.

Charko is giving himself a week or two to decide.

Meanwhile, Kanman Wong has announced that he’s seeking the Conservative nomination in Vancouver Quadra.

Wong previously ran in Vancouver Kingsway. At the municipal level, the UBC bookstore sales associate sought a seat on council.

“I have confidence that this time we do have a chance,” Wong told the Straight in a phone interview.

Joyce Murray has held Vancouver Quadra for the Liberals since 2008.

Carlito you can always find other fools to embarrass in your yellow rag, you do not have to continue making Ken look hopeless!
