To ask the Straight to stop publishing his opinions is outrageous and narrow minded on your part and I suggest they ignore you and continue to publish his column! You would be wise not to fan the flames of antisemitism by demads such as yours.

The French justice system is dealing with Dieudonne who ironically makes fun of the fact that any criticism of apartheid Israel, its policies, and their supporters - like yourself Sonya (and who have never been to France) - are somehow 'anti-semitic'. Let's just muzzle the press shall we because you don't like a journalists 'opinion piece'.

I think the state of Israel has used violence to kill a lot more people in the past few years, for the sake of protecting Jews, than the number of Jews that have been killed in the whole world. If only the Palestinians could also immigrate some where else. If we look for who are the greatest victims of violence in the present age it is not the Jews.

Sonya, if you think Dyer is ignorant or lying, you don't know Dyer.

If you think he is calling Jews cowards, you need to re-read his article.

And if you think he's wrong when he says not that many Jews have been killed, you need to re-check your facts.

Sonya, as a Jew, I appreciate your tribal/nationalistic tendency to protect your own. However, it has to be said that all people need protecting from the type of conservative political moral values that only respect their own.

In this modern age, the idea that any state could promote the "2 state" solution as viable and peaceful is nothing more than a conservative pipe dream. As a state, Israel respecting Jews first and others 2nd only promotes discrimination at the highest levels. Israel is a Zionist colonial state that has never recognized the pre-existing inhabitant's rights, including those of the Sephardic Jews who are treated as 2nd class citizens, while Arabs are treated as 3rd class.

Today the pendulum of 6 million murdered Jews has swung back to where it was in WWII. Conservative estimates of Iraqi deaths since 911 are more than 2.3 million, refugees from Syria are more than 4 million, Afganastan is in anarchy, Libya is in a civil war and Israel has done everything in its power to encourage western hegemony of brown skinned middle easterners and of muslims in general.

Israel was a Zionist dream that has turned into a middle eastern nightmare thanks to conservative values that only promote hate and distrust.

I used to read the print version of the Straight, starting with Dyer, then browsing some of the other sections. With Dyer no longer in the print version, I no longer feel compelled to pick it up, and Dyer remains, for me, the single greatest draw to the online version. Dyer's analysis of geopolitical events is superior to that provided by most mainstream media, and it is always insightful and thought provoking.

Having said that, I too have a request: Please put Dyer's column back in the print version. Reading it was something I looked forward to on Thursdays.

I got the impression that he wasn't downplaying antisemitism so much as downplaying the number of Jewish people leaving Europe for Israel compared to Netanyahu's campaign rhetoric designed to increase fear in Israeli voters ahead of an election.
