Video threatens RCMP cyber infrastructure after police-involved death of masked man in Dawson Creek

A video has been released on YouTube that threatens the RCMP's ability to use the Internet.

The voice claims that it's speaking on behalf of the loose international network of activists and hackers known as Anonymous. In the video, the voice condemns an unnamed Mountie for shooting "a masked Anon without provocation or cause" in Dawson Creek on July 16.

Then the voice states that there will be consequences if the officer is not named, fired, arrested, and charged for the death of the man, who was wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.

"If we do not receive justice, rest assured, there will be revenge," the voice on the video says. "We call upon our fellow Anons in Canada to take to the streets and protest at the RCMP headquarters in every province every day until our demands for justice are met. We call upon the global collective of Anonymous and allied crews to remove the RCMP cyber infrastructure from the Internet."

On July 17, the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. issued a news release stating that the RCMP was called after a male was "causing a disturbance" at a B.C. Hydro public-information session about the Site C dam.

"Upon arrival, police encountered a masked individual outside, believed to be connected to the complaint," the IIO stated. "A confrontation occurred and the male affected person was shot. He was transported to hospital however he did not survive his injuries."

In an update, the IIO stated that the man "had approached officers in an aggressive manner" and "did not comply with their directions" before being shot. A knife was found on the scene.

In the video, the voice claims that the situation should have been handled according to the protocols of Treaty 8. (This is an 1899 agreement between Queen Victoria and First Nations in Alberta, northeastern B.C., northwestern Saskatchewan, and the southernmost part of the Northwest Territories.)

"If Canadian police were as brave as Canadian nurses, they could deal with people with knives without hiding behind bullets," the voice declares. "This is the fourth Anon to be slain by security forces around the world in as many years—Turkey, Egypt, Palestine, and now British Columbia in Canada. As in the past Anonymous will not stand idly by while our own are cut down in mask."

The voice adds that Anonymous has fought for the lives of protesters around the world, including in Egypt's Tahrir Square and in Ferguson, Missouri.

"We will certainly avenge one of our own when they are cut down in the streets while protesting the earth-wrecking environmental policies of the Canadian government," the voice states. "To this end, Anonymous announces the launch of Operation Anon Down. The focus of this op going forward will be gaining justice and vengeance if necessary for our fallen comrade in Dawson Creek."

There's a promise of documents being released over the Internet as well as an offer of help for the dead man, who still hasn't been named.

"We will offer support and raise funds if necessary to cover the burial expenses of our fallen comrade. He will be buried with the honour and dignity that his courage has earned him. We will ensure that he is never forgotten and takes his place his place in the growing ledger of brave Anonymous martyrs around the world."

What real hackers can do. I do and it can be devastating. Why do you think the FBI, CIA, Military hire them when they're caught? Because they're better than their employees. And hackers are getting stronger and more advanced these days. Just wait people i wouldn't take this feedback from them so lightly...
