Wendy Yuan supporters plan protest outside scheduled coronation of Joe Peschisolido as Liberal candidate

      Former Liberal candidate Wendy Yuan is not sitting idly by after being refused a chance to run for her party's nomination in Steveston–Richmond East.

      At 6 p.m., Yuan and her supporters along with members of the local riding executive will hold a protest at the Hamilton Community Centre (5140 Smith Drive, Richmond).

      That's where lawyer and former MP Joe Peschisolido is scheduled to be acclaimed as the candidate.

      Yuan ran for the Liberals in Vancouver Kingsway in 2008 and 2011.

      The party refused to green-light her bid to become the candidate in Steveston–Richmond East.

      Yuan's team claims to have recruited nearly 3,000 supporters.

      Not a Liberal not even a supporter but this action by "headoffice" is disgraceful. How sad politics in BC has gotten.
