Get ready for tonight's supermoon

Too bad the Lower Mainland skies are filled with clouds.

That's because tonight is when a supermoon will reveal itself.

The earthsky.org website recently noted that the name was invented by astrologer Richard Nolle to describe a new or full moon coinciding with perigee. That's when the moon comes closest to Earth.

It's also known as the Sturgeon Moon.
