The Canucks have sent promising winger Ronald Kenins and centre Brendan Gaunce back to Utica, but 19-year-old rookie Jake Virtanen will be in the lineup for tonight's pregame match-up with the Edmonton Oilers.

Virtanen, who was born in New Westminster, is expected to play alongside rookie Jared McCann on the fourth line with tough guy Brandon Prust.

The Oilers will have rookie sensation Connor McDavid playing for the first time at Rogers Arena.

He's expected to be on a line with Taylor Hall and Teddy Purcell. McDavid already has five assists in the preseason.

It's the final preseason game of the year and follows Vancouver's 5-2 victory in Edmonton on Thursday (October 1).

In that game, Virtanen was named second star after scoring a goal and two assists. Bo Horvat was named first star after posting two goals and one assist. Canucks winger Sven Baertschi had four assists.
