Yosef Jomo Gopaul charged with second-degree murder in Surrey killing of Julie Paskall
A 27-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in last December's murder of Surrey hockey mom Julie Paskall.
Yosef Jomo Gopaul will appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Monday (May 26).
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced this afternoon that Gopaul was arrested on May 23 "without incident" in Surrey.
Paskall, 53, was attacked in the parking lot outside the Newton Arena on December 29 when she was picking up her 16-year-old. She died in hospital two days later.
Paskall's husband, Al, appeared at an RCMP news conference and said he appreciates that a charge has been laid. He also stated that his wife is "deeply missed".
Police said that Gopaul moved to Surrey eight weeks before the murder and was identified as a suspect about one month after Paskall's death.

If truly guilty, then should straight out get a needle; NO WAY should $1 taxpayer money go towards maintaining this individual's life PERIOD!

If this individual is found guilty, our "justice" system will no doubt come down hard on this individual with a tough 4 or 5 year sentence. Canadian "justice" doesn't care about victims, only the rights of the criminals.

Already there are lawyers salivating about the money they will make as this will drag on in the courts for the next decade.
