B.C. premier Christy Clark once thought it was a dumb idea to send a kid to private school

I just stumbled across another gem on Twitter.

It's an article written by Christy Clark in the Province newspaper when she was a talk-show host on CKNW Radio.

The subject was education—specifically the free-market loving Fraser Institute's annual school rankings.

Clark cited research by UBC mathematician George Bluman showing that grads of Vancouver public schools consistently outperform those from private schools in university math classes. (The Catholic schools' grads did better than those from other independent schools, but not as well as those who were products of the Vancouver school board.)

Clark's conclusion: "If you want a great education for your child, if you want to give them the best chance possible to succeed at a world-class university, save your money. Send them to your local public school."
