Get ready for a tabloid frenzy in our province.

That's because Governor General David Johnston has announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit B.C. and the Yukon this fall.

It will be William and Kate's first visit to B.C. together. There's no word yet on whether their children, George and Charlotte, will join them.

The last time William and Kate were in Canada was in the summer of 2011 when they went to Ottawa, Montreal, Charlottetown, Summerside, Yellowknife, Slave Lake, and Calgary.

A detailed itinery of their upcoming visit will be published "at a later date", according to the Governor General's office.

During their 2011 visit, William and Kate engaged in a bunch of activities to dispel the perception of Canadians that the monarchy was outdated.

They watched live music, did some dragon-boat racing, and William played ball hockey.

In addition, William spoke French in Quebec City to assuage many francophones' longstanding objections to the monarchy.
