Guests attending the International Cannabis Business Conference yesterday at the Hyatt Regency were treated to a special celebrity interview.

Tommy Chong took to the stage in the afternoon to chat with Freedom Leaf magazine editor-in-cheif Steve Bloom, but ahead of his on-stage interview, the Straight caught up with Chong in his hotel room to talk about the positive effects that marijuana has had on his life, and what it's like be back in Vancouver.

"Everything I've done in my life, which has been pretty extraordinary for a kid from Calgary, I owe it all to cannabis," said Chong. "As soon as I smoked up, I had arrived; I found exactly what I was looking for."

Chong also discussed the role cannabis has played in history, and what role it might play in the future. "We're knocking on the doors of peace," he said. We especially enjoyed asking him about what it's like be back in British Columbia.
