No classes at SFU Burnaby Mountain campus after snow blankets Metro Vancouver

This time, the weather forecasters got it right: snow has fallen across the Lower Mainland.

And in the wake of this, TransLink has announced this morning that there's no bus service going up or down Burnaby Mountain.

In addition, classes have been cancelled at SFU's Burnaby campus because the snow has made the road up the hill particularly treacherous.

If conditions improve and transit service is restored on Burnaby Mountain, it's possible that classes could be offered later in the day.

SFU plans to keep its Vancouver and Surrey campuses open.

There are also some changes to transit routes this morning. The 135/144 bus terminates at Hastings and Duthie streets, and the 145 bus will not leave Production Station to go up Burnaby Mountain.

Other TransLink service disruptions are available on the transportation authority's website.
