Two young children have lost their mother in South Burnaby.

And their father, Parveen Maan, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

      He remains in custody.

Today, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team revealed that Burnaby Mounties were called to a domestic dispute yesterday afternoon in the 7900 block of 18th Avenue.

According to a news release, after searching the home, they found a female "who was deceased from injuries received during an altercation".

The kids were not at home when the incident occurred.  They're in the care of other family members.

“This family is attempting to deal with this loss as best as they can in these initial stages," Cpl. Meghan Foster said in the news release. "This senseless act has left a gaping hole in a family, and two young kids without their mother.”
