A suspicious death in the West End has turned into a double homicide that’s now under investigation by Vancouver police.

“Just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July the 9th, officers were called to 1835 Morton Avenue and located two people deceased,” reads a July 10 VPD media release. “The victims have been identified as a 57 year old woman and a 51 year old man, both residents of Vancouver.”

That release followed a July 9 VPD statement that said officers had responded to a suspicious death in an apartment at the corner of Davie and Denman streets.

Police have arrested one person in relation to the incident. The VPD has said there is no reason to believe there is any risk to the public associated with the crime.

“All parties are known to each other,” the VPD release states.

The VPD has said it was made aware of the incident on July 9 but is seeking information related to that address for the time period from the afternoon of July 8 to the evening of July 9.
