Images of B.C.'s wildfires

      Approximately 10,000 people have fled their homes as fire crews are fighting more than 200 wildfires in the B.C. Interior.

      The provincial government has pledged $100 million to the Canadian Red Cross. This will ensure that $600 will go to each evacuee.

      And the Canadian Armed Forces has sent air assets and personnel to assist with the emergency response. The military says it will not be involved in law enforcement or security operations.

      Meanwhile, British Columbians learned today that they can donate to help evacuees through B.C. Liquor Stores. This is in addition to making contributions through the Red Cross website.
