Bullets continue to fly around Surrey and other municipalities south of the Fraser River. Over the weekend, RCMP officers responded to three shootings that are the latest in a series of incidents that have come with unusual frequency for more than a month now.

Early Saturday morning (September 23), a shooting occurred in Surrey near the intersection of 30 Avenue near 148 Street.

Just 24 hours later, early Sunday morning (September 24), RCMP officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 8400 block of 121A Street.

Less than half an hour after that, a similar incident was reported from the 14700 block of 30th Avenue.

In all three instances, police found evidence of gunshots fired but did not find anyone who was injured.

The trio of attacks is part of more than a month of gun violence across southern Metro Vancouver.

Earlier last week, on Monday (September 18), a man was shot dead in Richmond. His body was found in the 7500 block of Bridge Street.

The Richmond incident follows a series of shootings in Surrey, Langley, and Abbotsford that occurred through late August and early September. The most recent of those attacks left five people dead in less than a week.

It remains unclear how many of the shootings, if any, are related to one another. In each instance, however, police have said that the target of the attack did not appear to be random.
