Sears Canada expects liquidation sales will start on Thursday (October 19)

      Beleaguered retailer Sears Canada has obtained court approval to sell all of its inventory, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

      According to a company news release, liquidation sales will begin on Thursday (October 19).

      Lower Mainland bargain hunters can visit stores are at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver, Metrotown in Burnaby, Brentwood Town Centre in Burnaby, Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, Willowbrook Mall in Langley, and Coquitlam Centre in Coquitlam.

      Sears Canada is under bankruptcy protection, which has been extended until January 22, 2018.

      "Sears thanks its customers for their loyalty and support since 1953, when it began serving Canadians coast to coast under its then corporate name, Simpsons-Sears Ltd.," the company stated in the news release. "Sears also extends heartfelt thanks to its associates, both current and former, who helped build the Company into what was, for much of its existence, Canada's number one retailer, providing great value through quality products, exceptional services and outstanding prices."
